Aldon Smith was arrested last night for hit and run, vandalism and DUI. As he left jail this morning, KTVU caught up with him and asked him two questions. The transcript is below.
KTVU: What can you tell the faithful, all of the 49ers fans, who are watching?
Smith: People who are faithful remain faithful. I’m good, I can talk. It’s simple as this. Hey, justice will be served and the truth will come out. There’s no DUI. And I’m sorry for anybody I let down and I’m sorry for, you know, the way this whole thing … It’s time. I need to speak. I want everybody to understand, this wasn’t a DUI. The situation that happened could’ve been handled differently. I apologize to everybody that I did let down and I apologize for how it all played out. But as far as everything’s concerned, it’ll work out how it’s supposed to work out. That’s all.
KTVU: What can you say about what happened last night?
Smith: That’s all, alright? Thank you. Leave me alone.
