It was pretty cool that Andrew Bogut, who played just three minutes over the last three games, seemed so happy in the locker room after the Warriors clinched their first title in 40 years.
I was interviewing Festus Ezeli, who had 10 points, 4 rebounds and a block in 11 minutes, trying to get him to brag about his ridiculous putback dunk that silenced Quicken Loans Arena and no doubt made Mark Jackson angry enough to rip the wings off of a butterfly. Ezeli wasn’t in a mood to crow, but Bogut came through (bottle of champagne in hand) and was in a mood to talk up his fellow Warriors “big fella.”
“The swag label’s going to go from 100 to 200,” Bogut said.
“No, no, no, no,” said Ezeli. “No more Swagzeli.”
I mentioned how Ezeli now has “championship swag,” and that’s when he relented.
“Why not? We just won the championship. You can’t take that away from us.”
Sort of like the Leandro Barbosa video I posted earlier today (that kinda/sorta went viral while I was driving through Ohio and Pennsylvania), the less I write, the better.
Here’s the video:
