The San Francisco 49ers are staying the night in Appleton, Wisconsin. Appleton has a population of about 73,000, it’s 30 miles away from Green Bay, and Ric Flair came to Appleton to speak to the 49ers on Saturday night. Yes, the “WOOOOOOOO” guy of wrestling fame. This had to be Jim Harbaugh’s idea.
The 49ers were understandably excited, and several players posted photos of the motivational speech to various forms of social media. One such player, who didn’t make 49ers.com’s “best images of the night” with his tweet, was right tackle Anthony Davis.
That led to a bunch of angry responses from Wisconsins/Wisconsans/Wisconsons/Wisconsians (Wisconsinos?), including Bleacher Report’s Aaron Nagler.
If @AnthonyDavis76 was talking about the Paper Valley, well, it’s hard to get upset. But if he was talking about Appleton, he can eff off.

But the citizens of Wisconsin don’t realize that this is Bam Davis’ thing. He gets bored sometimes, tweets a bunch of incendiary/hilarious stuff, and deletes the tweets a little while later. That’s why I took screenshots instead of imbedding Bam’s tweets.
As his mentions got flooded with more complaints, he fueled the fire as only he can.
The 49ers don’t need to worry about taking his phone away tonight, however. He knows that he has to prepare for what could be the coldest game in NFL history tomorrow. (Considering the weather, can anyone blame the 49ers for grousing about where they’re staying? They’re probably stuck inside their hotel until the bus picks them up tomorrow morning.)
Update: Davis found inspiration from someone he insulted …
@AnthonyDavis76 thanks unfortunately I don’t have that head of hair anymore so I never changed the picture
