March Madness

BASG March Madness: only 2 possible winners left

It’s all about one game, which means everyone in the BASG bracket can do the right thing and root for Butler or VCU in the National Championship Game a week from today. Connecticut vs. Kentucky will control the standings in the BASG March Madness pool, with two people (Choosing on mascots and Whiskey Rebel) rooting for Kentucky to win, and five teams, led by Fixing Clam Chowder, are hoping Jim Calhoun takes out John Calipari in the upcoming semis matchup of coaches known for running squeaky clean programs and in Calipari’s case, refusing to lose.

Just look at him in the picture. The man refuses to lose!

Chowder was the only person to take the East Coast Huskies to win the whole thing. He’ll take 1st place as long as UConn wins on Saturday. The only contestant to tab Kentucky to win it all was mascots. With a UK win on Saturday, Choosing on mascots would finish 1st ($50), Whiskey Rebel would finish 2nd (truffles), and Fixing Clam Chowder would finish 3rd (cookies).

If UConn wins on Saturday, the standings stay as they are right now (as seen below). If this occurs and we’re left with a 3-way tie for 3rd, we’ll use the score of the championship game each contestant entered. Sort of like an over/under situation, we’ll add up the TOTAL score of each person’s championship game prediction, and the closest to the TOTAL score of the National Championship game wins. That’s the best I can think of, unless we can get my wife to back three separate batches of cookies for us to ship out if a 3-way tie happens. I don’t know if I really want to go to the UPS store and make all those shipments, so I think the tiebreaker idea sounds better.

REFUSE TO LOSE!!!
