As I write this, the view above my laptop screen is a big, beautiful expanse of grass and dirt. I’m in Surprise, Ariz., getting ready to watch my first Spring Training game. Surprise is the Cactus League home of the Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Royals, who host the San Francisco Giants this afternoon.
Still, even with baseball ruling the day (at least here), there’s no way I can forget about what has become an annual tradition: the BASG March Madness Tournament Challenge Spectacular … okay, we’re still working on the name.
I don’t need to explain what to do; you all know how to fill out a bracket. The contest page is here, it’s free to join, and here is what’s at stake.
Third Place
A DVD or Blu-Ray (your choice) of Moneyball, 2011’s best movie about Scott Hatteberg. That’s right, do moderately well in this contest and you can bring matinee idol Jonah Hill home to YOUR living room!
Second Place
$25 iTunes gift card. Because there will come a day when you have a significant other who doesn’t understand the decorative power of CDs and tells you to either sell them, leave them on the sidewalk or “just do whatever, I don’t care, put them in your closet or something.”
First Place
Remember when I won a $50 gift certificate to Amazon because enough of you voted for BASG as the “Most Valuable Blogger”? I didn’t spend it, so if you score the most points with your bracket it’s yours. That’s right, show off your prognosticating abilities and you’ll be a quarter of the way to a Kindle Fire!
