Bay Area Duck Guy and Ruthless Sports Guy talk football, particularly the 49ers in the playoffs (got that number two seed!) and the Stanford Cardinal-Wisconsin Badgers Rose Bowl match up. The Guys discuss the importance of a first-round bye to the 49ers, just how important Justin Smith is to San Francisco’s Super Bowl chances and how Colin Kaepernick will perform in the playoffs. Plus, The Guys dive into college football and discuss if the Cardinal will handle the Badgers as much as everyone thinks.

Also, what is your take on Gore as a feature back going into next year? Part of me is wondering if it's time to start having Hunter be the number one guy and have Gore take a much lighter load with LaMichael James sprinkled in.
I've thought since the 49ers spent a second round pick on James that Gore was going to be phased out. But to tell you the truth, I also thought Gore would get hurt this year and Hunter and James would be forced into more playing time, and Harbaugh and Baalke thought the same thing (see: signing Brandon Jacobs). Until Gore breaks down with a big injury or asks for too much money, I think he'll be the guy, but Hunter and James are certainly the backs of the future - the future just depends on Gore's health.
I largely agree with your takes on Kaep. The slow start of the offense I think was partly on him being a bit indecisive, but I think the biggest factor was getting pinned deep twice in a row thanks to Ginn's patented bonehead moves. Fourth drive they got going and Akers missed the FG, from there on forward the offense was getting it done. I put the majority of the blame for the first quarter on Ginn giving them a free pin at the one.
