Miles Scott, aka “Batkid,” captivated the city of San Francisco once again today. The Make-A-Wish Foundation set up an incredible event back in November that put Scott — who’s in remission from Leukemia — in the role of crime-fighting superhero.
Today Scott put the batsuit back on for another mission that had nothing to do with Riddler or the Penguin:
Throw the first pitch at the San Francisco Giants home opener at AT&T Park.
The Batmobile cruised down the third base line, and Batkid received a standing ovation when he appeared.
He was met by Matt Cain, who walked him to the mound.
After a few words of encouragement, Batkid completed his mission:
The crowd cheered and chanted Batkid’s name for about a minute afterward. It’s hard to think of a better way to start the 15th season at AT&T Park than what the Giants did today.
