While many are still focused on Barry Zito rejoining the Oakland A’s (who signed Zito to a minor league deal), I find the following return to be a tad more interesting … or entertaining, at least:
So pumped to be working with @dandibley again. He joins @JohnLundRadio and me rest of week 12-3 on @957thegame … and then more.

I’ll say this for Jason Barrett: he’s good at keeping relationships from going sour. Dan Dibley joins Matt Steinmetz and Mychael Urban as radio personalities who worked full-time at 95.7 The Game, were relieved of those duties, then came back months later in some capacity.
Why would Barrett bring Dibley back into the fold? It could be a desire to add a host with whom Bay Area fans are familiar. Or, maybe Barrett is less “dictatorial” now that everyone knows he’s leaving in June.
Barrett has also taken a lot of criticism from 95.7 listeners for cutting ties with the Rise Guys (including dozens of comments on this site). Bringing back Mark Kreidler and Whitey Gleason isn’t a possibility, as those two signed with ESPN 1320 in Sacramento back in July. Dibley, who held several different jobs in recent months (including some time in the chopper, doing traffic reports for KCBS), wanted to get back into the sports talk game. As someone who enjoys Dibley’s humorous takes on things, I’m glad he’ll be back on the air, doing what he loves.
