Bob Fitzgerald went to Notre Dame. You probably already know that, otherwise you wouldn’t have cared enough about the headline to click on this story. Fitzgerald is an accomplished play-by-play broadcaster, and he’ll occasionally deliver some cogent analysis about teams he doesn’t really care about. But listen to his thoughts about the Fighting Irish and Golden State Warriors at your own peril, because he has a vested interest in those franchises. Or just don’t listen to the show at all, which has generally been my preference for several years.
Surely you’ve heard about or even read the Deadspin story about Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o's dead girlfriend never really existing, which was published at 1:10 PST on Wednesday afternoon. I was all ready to write up a post about football announcers and go take a walk or something before heading to Oracle Arena to watch the Warriors and Heat, and the social media explosion pretty much sucked up my entire afternoon. Forget fresh air, there are jokes to read on Twitter!
I turned on the radio around 1:30, and seconds later Damon Bruce started a segment about Te’o and how bizarre this whole thing is. But Bruce tackling the Te’o saga wasn’t at all surprising. It was the number one story of the day from the moment it dropped, and it was going to be the top topic for every sports talk show in the country for several hours, if not days.
Curiosity got the best of me. How might Fitz react to one of his heros going down in flames? What might the guy who for years has prattled on about the intelligence and purity of Notre Dame athletes have to say about an football star who was either woefully naive or incredibly conniving? What would Fitz, who brushed aside any ideas of toning down the smugness after the Irish were beaten down like Florida Atlantic in the BCS Title Game (because Alabama is a “semi-pro team”), say about all of this?
Turns out, nothing.
Neither Fitzgerald nor Rod Brooks broached the subject. Neither did the update guy. After Deadspin’s Timothy Burke and Jack Dickey cited a variety of mass media outlets that fell for Te’o's sob story — without checking to see if the reason for his tears actually, you know, kicked the bucket — Fitz and Brooks needed some time to make sure Deadspin’s story was legit.
Or, Fitz just didn’t want to talk about it. He was more than happy to guffaw like always near the end of the show when Brooks brought up how another college footballing rapscallion, Florida Gators offensive lineman Jessamen Dunker, was arrested for stealing a scooter. HARDY HAR HAR! A 300-lb scooter thief who plays for a school neither Fitz nor Brooks attended! Life is good, USC Trojan jokes for everyone!
When the clock struck three, Ray Ratto and Tom Tolbert went straight to the Te’o story as quickly as humanly possible as the show’s opening theme song/montage/whatever began to wane. Ratto and Tolbert could not have been more excited to talk about this, and for good reason. If you can’t do a radio show in the minutes and hours after a story like this breaks, hosting may not be for you.
And what do you know, each sports update segment suddenly included a summary of the Te’o saga once Fitz left the building.
It was a truly cowardly display from Fitz and Brooks. Both hosts may think Deadspin is an online rag that is not to be trusted due to the preponderance of photos featuring athletes’ genitalia. But it was still a ginormous story, even if it contained factual holes (I haven’t seen any yet). Also, I’ve heard Brooks do a “NiTwit of the Day” segment, where he pokes fun at some athlete for tweeting something stupid. So we know Brooks is at least familiar with Twitter. And even the media guys who aren’t posting anything on Twitter are on there anyway, just so they can get alerts whenever stuff happens like a Sharks trade or Stephen Curry’s styrofoam ankle crumbling into a thousand little pieces.
And the worst thing? I spent an hour and a half of my afternoon listening to Fitz and Brooks while they took on heady topics — like the scooter thing and congratulating themselves for not labeling Michael Crabtree a bust before this season. Perhaps someone else can listen and find out whether these two finally approach the subject during today’s show, because I’m planning on making plans to do something. Anything. Maybe I’ll find out once and for all if my wife is real. Most people think it’s weird that we’ve never met, but it’s an arrangement that has always worked for us. Wish me luck.

Not to pile on Fitz and I know this is kind of random but, since we're talking about Fitz here, did anyone notice last season on the night of Chris Mullin's jersey retirment ceremony, that Greg Papa was the emcee/master of ceremonies, instead of Fitz? I mean yes, I guess I can understand that since Greg Papa was the Warriors TV play-by-play analyst when Chris Mullin was a Warrior in his 1st stint with the Warriors, and the Warriors brought back some of the members of the Run TMC era Warriors for Mullin's ceremony, and they brought back Don Nelson as well. Greg Papa seemed like the right guy to emcee it. He has the personality for big events like that, just like Kruk, Kuip, and Jon Miller do for big Giants ceremonies during baseball season. Fitz probably would've done a good job too, but I wonder if the Warriors figured that Fitz would probably get booed like Lacob did when introduced to the crowd, so they just went with Greg Papa, especially since he called Warrior games back then. I'm sure him being more familiar with the Run TMC era Warriors since he called their games, probably made him the more obvious choice than Fitz. Greg Papa got a nice ovation from the crowd when he walked to center court to start Mullin's retirement ceremony. It did make more sense to go with Greg Papa though. But yeah, I wondered if anyone noticed that or found that interesting. They went with the guy who used to call Warrior games (Greg Papa) instead of the guy who currently calls Warrior games (Fitz) to emcee the big ceremony. Also, Fitz didn't even mention anything about Lacob getting booed during the ceremony at all, in the 2nd half of the telecast of that game, or the next day on KNBR on Fitz and Brooks, at least the little I heard of their show the next day after that. Damon went to town on that the next day, and even Greg Papa talked about it with Lund the next day.
Bob Fitzgerald is SO bad that a rabid ND fan friend of mine (don't ask me why...) used a word I won't use here to describe him. It starts with C, and it wasn't "crap"...
Agree BASG. Discussing controversy at KNBR from 12:00-3:00? Are we kidding each other here. One thing is certain if the subject is ND's football program expect Bob Fitz to give you a positive spin on the story. Bob Fitz, a.k.a. how I worship ND football. Bob Fitz, thou will never speak ill of my passion in life, ND football. Why even have a talk show if you cannot give an objective and candid view point on a subject.
Fitz is a Shill! No more no less. He works for Comcast/NBC. The Fighting Irish Football games are on NBC. He called the Olympics for NBC...you know...where he saw Zuckerburg. His dream job is to call football Nationally for NBC and the Fighting Irish. The problem is he has ZERO journalistic integrity. He is a sports version of a Fox News host. He is a prostitute, no more, no less. He will say whatever you want, or don't want, just pay him. He sucked of Cohan's hind teat for years, and earned another contract for doing it. He is more propaganda than journalist, and I hope like hell he is sent packing when his deal is up, and Greg Papa returns to the play by play chair. Truth be told Fitz is a good P by P guy, and could be great if he told it like it is. Papa is a great play by play guy who got screwed by Cohan for being honest, and taking 8 Sunday dates with the Raiders. It's time to get him back back where he belongs.
When the Warriors move into the new SF building, their new TV team should be Papa and Tolbert...
As far as Fitz stealing Greg Papa's job goes, I found an article online from 1997 that discussed the whole situation. Anyone on here with more knowledge of what happened or memories of how everything went down, can go ahead and add on if you guys want. Here is the link that I found online from sfgate explaining what happened: http://www.sfgate.com/sports/article/SUSAN-SLUSSER-ON-THE-AIR-Papa-Out-Fitzgerald-2807995.php I'm not sticking up for Fitz, but it seemed like the Warriors wanted someone who would call their games full-time and/or be "their guy" (probably like how Kruk and Kuip are for the Giants or Randy Hahn and Drew Remenda are for the Sharks), and I guess be a big part of their broadcasting team. Since Greg Papa was calling A's games at the time, and he agreed to do Raider games at that time too, the Warriors probably felt that there was a chance that Greg Papa probably would miss calling some/a lot of Warrior games, especially when basketball season overlaps with football season at the beginning of the NBA season (November and December) and he would be off calling a Raider game, and then when basketball season overlaps with baseball season towards the end of the NBA regular season (March and April), he would be off calling an A's game. I remember in the early 2000's when Greg Papa was calling A's and Raiders games. I have no idea how he did it, travel wise especially, especially when the MLB and NFL seasons overlap with each other in August, September, and October. He would be calling a Raider game in Oakland on a Sunday, then be off to call an A's road game that next night in Minnesota or Texas or Anaheim some place, or vice versa, when the Raiders played a road game on a Sunday in Kansas City or San Diego or some place, then he would call an A's game in Oakland that night next. But yeah, maybe the Warriors felt like they needed someone who would be committed to calling Warrior games full-time, and I guess Fitz was their best option, since he I guess did call some Warrior games from time to time, before he became the full-time Warriors TV play-by-play man in the 1997-1998 season. Plus, maybe the Warriors didn't want to go through the process of trying to find a fill-in announcer if Greg Papa was off calling an A's game or a Raider game, unless Fitz was going to be the fill-in announcer. It probably would've been troublesome, and maybe the fill-in announcer would eventually want to get paid more, or go to a team where they could get a full-time gig. Reading the article, it does seem fishy how everything went down, and I can see why Fitz is despised by many because of that. I wasn't following sports yet at that time, but it definitely seemed crazy. Luckily Greg Papa had the A's and Raiders gig to fall back on, at the time. He even called some games for the Spurs too at that time. I think I even remember him calling a basketball game or two on TNT. I wonder if Fitz and Greg Papa are cool with each other now, years later, especially since Greg Papa has to talk to Fitz before and after Warrior games for the Warriors pre and postgame shows on CSN Bay Area.
Thanks for that OB3! Great article by Susan, bet in this century that kind of article never gets published in a major metro daily, as nowadays it's all mega-business-kiss-up-corporate-"orgy". What a creep Fitz is. I think the whole loser in this is Brooks. I have heard him alone on occasion and sometimes with Lynch, I easily see a totally different persona with flashes of good radio in him. left alone, or with a normal human being of a partner, I believe in 6 months he would be decent to very good -and eventually a first rate sports jock. (but he's got to lose the bad comedy) But this current "thing" with Shitz has got to go!
No problem PW!.... Yeah, I agree that an article like this wouldn't be published nowadays because of the corporate stuff, and the FO of these teams being more sensitive. It really shows you how different things were even a little over 15 yrs. ago. I'm sure the Warriors would've took down an article like this, if something like this was to happen now. I like how she really went in depth with this. Yeah, I agree with you on Rod. He is better without Fitz, or whenever he's on with Kevin Lynch. I think Fitz sometimes tries to make Rod look dumb, but Rod is a smart talk show host, and I normally agree with him on his take on things, whenever I do listen to him, or whenever he comes on Gary and Larry's show right quick, during the "faceoff".
Yeah, PB, Brooks alone doesn't bother me near as much as Fitz.
Matter of fact, when I used to tune in regularly for Ralph and Tom, I'd make sure and tune in early enough to catch RB's "NetTwit of the Day" segment. It was usually really funny. "Ironic" that he didn't do one for Manti Te'o...
Yeah, OB3, nice work! I was going by memory from listening to KNBR as it went down. Papa did quote directly on the air that "Fitz stabbed me in the back" when he had a brief run as a host on 1050. I'm wondering if all this negativity towards Fitz, combined with the bad ratings, will be what Cumulus needs to drop the guillotine on the 12-3 slot? Damon needs 50k watts!
Thanks Eric!..... Oh wow, Greg Papa said that? Fitz did stab him in the back though. It seems like a lot of people were surprised by what transpired. It just seemed so bizarre for someone to lose their job like that. As far as KNBR letting Fitz go, I kind of doubt that it happens because the Warriors are rumored to be paying his KNBR salary, so in a sense he's kind of on KNBR for free if those rumors are really true, and Fitz seems like the kind of guy who knows people like Ralph does, to file a suit against KNBR if they were to ever get rid of him for whatever reason. KNBR did let Fitz go before, when they brought Rick Barry in, but Fitz wasn't as big of a name back then as he is now, and after the Ralph debacle, I wonder if Lee Hammer/Cumulus/KNBR is reluctant to let go of another full-time weekday host. I totally agree that Damon should be on KNBR 680 though. Its too quality of a show to be on 1050. It's kind of surprising that he's been on 1050 for almost 3 yrs. now. It's worked, and he has a good thing on 1050, but he should be on 680. KNBR should totally just switch Damon's show with Fitz and Brooks, or if that doesn't work, then just move Fitz by himself to 1050, and have Damon from Noon-3 on 680, and have Rod be Tom's new official co-host. Rod could be a stronger co-host to Tom, than Ratto or Byrnes (if he's still in the mix) are. I would then keep Ratto and maybe Byrnes as part of the fill-in rotation with Kevin Lynch, Ted Ramey, and Matt Kolsky.... I don't see Fitz wanting to go to 1050, and maybe he would quit, if that was to ever happen.
The worst part about this? You had to listen to Fitz and Brooks at all.
When Fitz stole Greg Poppa's job from the Warriors I lost all respect for that man. Ever since that day I can't stand listening to him on the radio. He's a fraud and a joke and so is his radio show.
Nice! I was waiting for that angle to come up, and I'm not sure how amny people remember that. Fitz straight up stole Papa's job...and Papa was a good basketball announcer, but Cohan (tool) want a basketball only guy, so Fitz swooped in. This he also didn't deny, and chalked it up to "competitive sports business", which ultimately led to Bob Agnew canning him.
Fire Bob Fitzgerald
Eh, I'm not sure about that. Yeah, we all aren't big on Fitz with his radio show, but I would still keep him on KNBR, even though I would move him to 1050 and switch him with Damon. Fitz is smart, does his HW, and has very good knowledge of the NBA, and can give you good insights inside NBA circles, especially since he calls Warrior games. Yeah, his baseball knowledge is eh, and he likes the DH/AL style baseball a little too much, but overall, his sports knowledge is pretty good. Yes, KNBR got rid of Fitz before when Rick Barry was doing the show, and then they eventually added Rod to be alongside Rick Barry, and they could get rid of Fitz again, but I doubt it though. KNBR would probably look bad for getting rid of someone like Fitz who calls Warrior games, some NFL games, and has called games in the Olympics. Even Gary said Fitz is too smart to do this (host a sports talk radio show). Plus, Fitz is tight with LeBron, I guess somewhat. Did anyone see LeBron talking to and shaking hands with Fitz and Barnett last night, after the Heat-Warriors game last night? But yeah, with all that being said, I wouldn't fire Fitz, but I would move him to 1050.
They, really should. Good Lord, they really should fire that guy. He's worse than useless. He honestly makes Byrnes seem like easy listening.
Fitz is a coward and that show is complete trash. I could never have listened, I think the most I've caught of his show in years is the occasional moment when I turn on my car and it's already tuned to 680. I don't listen to that trash, it rots your brain.
As much as I like listening to Damon Bruce because of his own merits as a host, the entire reason I started with his show in the first place is because Fitz and Brooks became so unbearable. As if the constant laughing at their own punchless jokes, cutting off and demeaning callers and ignoring local schools to discuss their alma maters that don't even play in conferences west of the Mississippi isn't enough, they don't even have the journalistic integrity to cover major stories that reflect negatively on teams they basically provide PR for from 12-noon on 680. Imagine if Fitz was a Penn St grad...he would have taken a six month vacation last year, which would have been pretty cool, actually. If I could put him on the spot on air, I'd love to get his reaction to this story: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/she-the-people/wp/2012/12/04/why-i-wont-be-cheering-for-old-notre-dame/ Also, I love the fact that normally on this site, no matter how insightful or respectful a comment is, almost always someone will disagree enough to merit it at least one thumbs-down. Not a single comment on this story ripping Fitz has a thumbs-down to go with the 20 or 30 thumbs-up each has.
Ahem *12-3
Fitz was not hosting today in studio because the Dubs are traveling today. Pretty cut and dry
To not cover a subject like this...all the while covering fat scooter thieves, and the other stories of the day...is just soft. If there is one tandem that's 'dead men walking' on radio it has to be them. The only thing (their ratings are horrible) that is keeping them on KNBR has to be the Warrior angle. We know the station is no longer about loyalty, so they must be on the ropes. They have however covered LSU's various travails, so the bitch card definitely gets tossed to Fitz. This is a big story, both in sports, and overall media credibility. The fact that even the update guy didn't touch it is just bad sports reporting. Can't tell you the amount of time the channel gets changed at work from 12-3, then goes back to Tolbert.
As I keep saying, I don't understand why they just can't switch the Fitz and Brooks show with Damon's show. If their ratings are so bad and we all know that the Warriors are paying Fitz's KNBR salary (first because he hasn't denied the story, and second, it just seems so obvious), and he even mentions during the Warriors telecasts that they will talk about the Warriors, KNBR should seriously switch shows. It's a no brainer move if you ask me. No one gets fired, and Damon is back on 680. Everyone wins (Damon, us listeners, the people at KNBR 680, et. al), except for Fitz and Brooks I guess, if moving to 1050 from 680 would be/is considered a demotion. At least they wouldn't be getting fired. I mean, Damon probably doesn't have as much of an audience from Noon-3 on 1050 like Fitz and Brooks do on 680, but Damon has a pretty huge following, and his show is more quality, than the Fitz and Brooks show. Was Rod high on medicine on his show today? It's interesting how there is so much of a contrast between the Fitz and Brooks show, and Damon's show.
Fitz is not on the air today. When the heat gets turned up, he bails. What a wimp.
Why do both those guys look affected wearing sun glasses in the shade? The first chapter in being cool is to wear dark glasses in-doors or where not required.
I asked this before but, does anyone find it kind of funny how Fitz and Ric Bucher, pimp their radio shows during Warrior telecasts now? Whenever Fitz and even Barnett, tell you to listen to the Fitz and Brooks Show, I always say to myself, listen to Damon Bruce! Fitz never really used to pimp his radio that much during Warrior telecasts, even though he would mention it from time to time when he would mention who he had on the show and whatnot, or joke with Barnett that he should come on the show as a guest. It is kind of surprising they don't have Barnett on more. But yes, Fitz hasn't pimped the Fitz and Brooks show like this, until Bucher came along to CSN Bay Area. Of course, a lot of that has to do with Bucher being on 95.7 and of course, Fitz being on KNBR 680. That would be funny if Fitz jokes and says listen to Mr. T from 3-7 PM on KNBR 680 or if Greg Papa during the half time show on CSN Bay Area says listen to him and Jon Lund on 95.7 from Noon to 3. I'm kind of surprised Greg Papa hasn't gotten into this mix yet, of promoting radio shows. LOL. But yeah, I was just wondering if anyone finds it kind of funny that Fitz and Bucher pimp their radio shows during Warrior telecasts. I mean, I guess you have to promote any way you can and that's like free advertising for their shows, but don't they think that most of the people watching the Warrior games on TV, know what station they both are on, and when you can listen to them? I guess they do that for new people that tune in, and want to hear them on the radio too.
Those are paid spots from the respective radio stations. Hence the graphics and logos of the stations on the Warriors telecast when they are 'pimping' them.
Yeah, that's true, I guess so.... It kind of seems like a KNBR vs. 95.7 thing when Bucher early in the Warrior telecast mentions his show on 95.7, and then later on in the Warrior telecast, Fitz and/or Jim Barnett, mentions the Fitz and Brooks show on KNBR. Yeah, I guess it probably is paid spots by both stations, even though it could be a better way for Bucher to get his name out there, as far as his show on 95.7 goes, and probably 95.7 as a station to get their name out there too.
Fitz will say " Its too bad this young man who obviously has some private issues couldnt take advantage of an education from the finest University in the World BLAH BLAH BLAH ..." In other words, Te'o bad, Notre Dame good.
haha. Yeah, I can see Fitz saying that. We'll see if Fitz does the show tomorrow from San Antonio, unless Kevin Lynch fills in for him again, and Fitz calls in, and they talk nothing about that.
Propaganda, of some sort, on KNBR?!!! ;)
They should change their name to FOX & Brooks, pure propaganda!
Not bad Mr Rivera.
Meanwhile, Damon has talked about this his whole show, up until now. Even the caller "Al from San Francisco" kind of got on him a little for talking about the whole Teo thing for pretty much the whole first hour of his show. He really does have to get back to talking about the Niners being back in the NFC Championship Game. Yes, the Teo story is a weird/crazy/sad/somewhat fascinating story, but the Niners are in the NFC Championship Game and the Warriors played the Heat last night.
disagree! look at the ratings. there is way more interest in the Teo story right now. The interest in the story will only grow. And in several weeks, we will have the NFL combine and thats when all the teams & all the media reporters will be there.
Yeah, there is more interest in the Teo story and the Teo story is out of control, but we have the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game and LeBron was in town last night! But yeah, the Teo story is an unbelievable story though. This might be the most bizarre story of 2013 already, and this year just started. I'm sure this will be remembered still by the end of this calendar year, unless something else crazier happens later this year. But yeah, we won't forget this though.
Of course Fitz and Brooks wouldn't talk about this, and isn't it kind of fitting that Fitz isn't on air today? Yes, part of it is because the Warriors are probably either on their way to traveling to San Antonio or are getting ready to travel to San Antonio, and that's probably the excuse they would probably go with if someone was to ask where Fitz is, but on last night's Warriors telecast, he said he would be on today for a little bit. Fitz wasn't even on air the day after the BCS National Championship Game. I think it's obvious that Fitz doesn't like anything bad to be said about his alma mater Notre Dame, or about the Warriors which is the team he covers. Yeah, I agree, he is a company man/shill. It would've been interesting to hear what he had to say about the whole Teo thing though. Even Jim Barnett didn't ask him about it during the Warrior telecast last night.
Fitzgerald is a wart on the ass of sports radio.
Gary and Larry talked about the imaginary girlfriend story today. They weren't sugar coating anything
I laughed that Radnich pretended he had no idea why that kid would invent a GF!, And they set up the conversation so that..it fell on Kate Scott to say it. So,fake,so staged.
Raddy and Kreuger have never mentioned Notre Dames loss to this day. That's really bizarre a company would worry so much of Bobs mental health they tell the "team" not to talk about the national college championship. Fragile it must be.
Sorry to whomever posted this originally on another local blog, but I felt it appropriate to "appropriate" (Stan will like that in the art context, I'm sure. It's the only kind of art he likes, "appropriated"—stolen intellectual property) this response to Stan here: Everything that Stan posts about Radnich is false in the sense it reflects Stan's delusion that he somehow exists in Radnich's world and incorporated celebrity Radnich in his own day to day life. Of course Stan doesn't actually know the real person. Instead he obsessively listens to Radnich on radio, watches him on TV, and even watches him on TV doing his radio program. From this, Stan builds fantasies about Radnich's character, defects, relationships, and begins to imagine that he holds some significance in Radnich's actual life, which obviously, he does not. Another big warning sign is how Stan incorporates other celebrities into these fantasies. Stan imagines Radnich has insulted Emerald Yee, offended Pam Moore, etc., and he Stan is "bravely" defending them. Thus this all becomes an elaborate pretend world for someone, who for whatever reason, either is incapable of or chooses not to engage in the real world. By reporting all Radnich's confabulated defects here, Stan can imagine he has a whole audience of "Stan fans", who like him, are in agreement with him and appreciate his astute observations. If that were actually true, he would be able to start a blog of his that would attract his fans. Ultimately, he realizes that's not really the case. So he infects other blogs and lashes out at any critics claiming they are either KNBR operatives, Radnich flunkies, or political enemies - claims that are nonsensical and paranoid.
Your speaking with pure ignorance. If you knew what I know...then your comment would be what it is -just hot air. How ignorant you are to say my opinion of Radnich constantly bringing up Emerald Yee in ALWAYS a negative light after more then a decade is "perception" I perceive the sun is shiny too,you dope. You cant say that listening and observing the man proves that I don't know what I'm talking about!..idgit!...Its how you come to be an expert is observation. So,If I never watched him..in your world THAT makes me an expert??..lol..As always, you repubs want it both ways. Radnich has told many a negative story of Emerald Yee,Wendy Tokuda,Rick Quan. He "plays" with Asian names lie Da Lin,Thuey Ve,Sue Quon. and others. Yet..name a time Radnich ripped a black female anchor.Never happens. OH,-he DID say- Sheryl Hurd is going to be a great bay area media star he said years ago. Yes,she is black. I know what I'm talking about. Like it or not Rich baby.
I'll go back to sports posts in a moment, but Stanley, you ignorant slut, you've posted against me here (and against several others) numerous times, citing me by name. The delusion, my talking monkey specimen, is yours.
Frankly your an idiot as you make post after post about me for months now. Do I ever post about you? nah. I guess its a form of flattery that you think I'm a celebrity. But then you would be delusional I would think too. You want a quiet protest? Follow your own advice. Meanwhile I will be me.
The portions about Emerald Yeh and anything below the first sentence were written by someone else, SuperGenius. If you're so observant, then why do you keep insisting I'm Republican? You have no idea which party I'm registered as (it's not Republican, though I like many Republicans, and don't generalize against them like you.), so your powers of observation aren't so great. Since you seem to be saying (between the lines) that you want a better world with equality, justice, etc., and so on, why don't you focus your observations on figures that would help you achieve that? Folks like Jesus, Buddha, or even recent folks who have done a lot for the world? Why the obsession with "observing" Radnich? Frankly, if I were him, I'd get a massive restraining order on you.
STAN, What is wrong with you? This story has NOTHING to do with Radnich. This article is about Fitz and Brooks! What happened to you that all you can think about is Radnich. Get help!
If I was more mature I would ignore Stan's rambling. But I can't. He reminds me of the movie "Big Fan" ( which if you haven't seen it is about sports talk radio )
Me?? Its YOU! BASG said that nobody at KNBR,including Tolbert would dare talk about ND. You then launched into me with bogus claims. Help? The same to you. EXCEPT, I couldn't care less what you get. Stay in crazyland for all I care-lol
Stan, I'll respond to what you've asked about when you referred to me by name in those comments. KNBR AND 95.7 INTERNS: I haven't looked into this because I don't have time or the IP addresses for each station. Also, many people comment with their phones. I could do a ton of research and see if some people were posting under multiple names, but I don't see any reason to and I'm busy constantly creating new content. I can't see who clicks thumbs up or thumbs down, nor do I really care. It isn't illegal to click "thumbs down" on a comment, and I'm sure this comment I'm writing will get a few. Life goes on. JEREMY LIN: you may have commented about it, but I first heard about the insensitive ESPN headline on Twitter before seeing anything you posted. I'm not trying to withhold credit from you, and I'd have no problem giving you credit if you were my "source." But this was public knowledge. Maybe you beat everyone to the punch and I missed it, that's possible. KATE SCOTT: Even if you thought the KNBR hosts handled her situation poorly, your comments were in poor taste. I let you get away with murder in my comments section on a daily basis, so I don't know why I need to apologize for letting you know what I thought of something you said. It's not like I attacked you personally, just what you wrote about Scott. If you dish it out (and you do, all the time), you have to be able to take it. GARY RADNICH: I don't hate Gary at all, because I don't know him. This is all showbiz, anyway. He's a TV and radio personality, that's it. I get a kick out of it when he rips bloggers, and I'm sure he knows that. I just report on stuff that happens with his show, like when Dibley and Bruno left, when Damon Bruce worked with him and then suddenly was moved back to 1050, etc. It's interesting stuff, people seem to REALLY care, and the local media shapes how certain players and teams are perceived so it's (relatively) important. I might question how people cover certain things, but I don't have a vendetta against anyone in Bay Area media. I haven't taken anyone's "side," Stan. I just copied that part from the post to show that what you said ("BASG said that nobody at KNBR,including Tolbert would dare talk about ND.") wasn't what I wrote. That's all. I'm not against you, or anybody. It's not life and death, it's sports and radio.
Piss me off all you want. I still hug the kittens, kiss the babys and enjoy my oldies music the rest of my free time. Unlike your idol Radnich,Who I AM don't revolve around money.
Oh now your "paperback". You write the same,I can never think you aren't more then one! Dummy...you would cut off your right arm to say you caught ESPN in a slur, etc. Jealousy is all you got.
You hypocrite Reggie..so obsessed over me,you even go to Liebermans blog and post under other names-to only my posts. I already said that what a nut you must me to make every topic about me,then you say I "hijack"???? Look in the mirror is right!
OK Stan, we are not worthy- go ahead - take your "talents" elsewhere and leave for good. Try to stick to the posts topics once in a while, wherever you go.
Of course it's Steve Berman who runs the Radnich posts because he hates him. But does Steve go after the team of KNBR interns and fake names who flood this blog? And do the nutz here ever take on Steve? No..cowards. Its hilarious they vote for Raddy by the phony dozens...And Steve says nothing. Lowell Cohn and Rich Lieberman never sold me out,or took a side.
Its like the Kate Scott post...did he apologize? Nah,called my posts "garbage"..even after I explained that KNBR ON AIR said she was fine. I made the huge mistake of believing KNBR didnt I ? THEY didn't want to "bring down the show " with photos or telling what happened. So ,did Steve EVER say..sorry? nooo.
Thats a laugh you and "reggie and slam" and what names always make it about me. And I see Steve hasn't said nothing about the KNBR interns IP adress OR multiple names., But then again he never said a word about the ESPN post I made here. Not a compliment. Ever. Backstabber.
"Stay in crazyland for all I care"... Oh, that's freakin' CLASSIC Stan. I feel bad for BASG in a way, to have the discussions hijacked in the way you do, but I guess the metaphoric train wreck that you are might bring in page views...
"When the clock struck three, Ray Ratto and Tom Tolbert went straight to the Te’o story as quickly as humanly possible as the show’s opening theme song/montage/whatever began to wane. Ratto and Tolbert could not have been more excited to talk about this"
Fitz=Stan=Denier
I'm waiting for Steve to reveal how many posts -Like with Kawakami and Leiberman- originate from KNBR. And why so many here sound alike..or the same email.
You deny your a white republican who hates hip hop? No,you don't. Spare us your lies...
You have proof of the "extensive" coverage that I never heard?
Above is a description of an available podcasts of the discussion, on Gary and Larry's show. FYI
Jon Wilner from the San Jose Mercury News joins Larry and Gary to talk about the Te'o story that broke yesterday. They talk about the journalistic fallout from the story and if there will be any repercussions from the "hoax". OK PUNK? Unlike you, I provide proof, now SHUT - UP and Go AWAY! LOL, LOL, LOL
Right, Raddy and Larry went over this and Manti Ghost Lover for many a segment. Even had college beat writer from San Jose Merc on about it. Covered theND loss to Bama extensively - then and now -and doubled down that they were blown out while covering the Brent-Beauty Queen silliness. Stan, I hate to waste time responding to your BS, but once in a while it's nice, as Raddy would say:"PUNK!"
I heard nothing about the ND loss TODAY.(or earlier)..Only the gay kid...like I said. Get out with your desperate attempts to find a fault. Wait for a "your" or something.
Lol, Fool. Don't waste your worthless time then.
