Then again, I don't care how much money the Giants are spending, except that I want them to spend as much as possible. Buying two Anchor Steams at Mays Field at the same time will do that to a person. I agree that the Giants have rarely if ever been burned by trading a starting pitching prospect (and have even been hurt by keeping guys like Jerome Williams too long). It's just that people were shocked because Alderson's name never came up until the trade was announced, and while Sanchez has been an All-Star he isn't healthy, young or address the Giants' main lineup needs (someone to lead off and hit cleanup). I think for the pre-game show Bochy should go with "Franchy" for Freddy Sanchez, or go Sanchez and Sanchez II (like the Simpson's soccer episode with Ariaga). Why are all of these Giant's fans worried about a pitcher that no more than one percent of them has seen? Brass Tacks is that we traded a minor league pitcher who has not been dominant at the double a level for a three time all-star, a Pirate all-star, but one nonetheless. So stop whining Giant's fan, this was a good deal. Now Botch can have dueling Sanchys to mumble about in his pre-game show! Think how awesome that will be.
