Bay Area Sports Guy – Jaymee Sire leaving CSN Bay Area for ESPN

Jaymee Sire recently changed her Twitter handle from @JaymeeSireCSN to @Jaymee, and removed any mention of CSN from her bio. I’ve been told there is a reason for this — she’s moving to Bristol, Conn.

I wasn’t able to find out what Sire’s role will be at ESPN, and from what I’m hearing there were no hard feelings on either side in regards to her departure from CSN Bay Area. Sire simply wanted a change, and ESPN could provide her with an opportunity to branch out from MLB sideline work (she used to be the Warriors’ sideline reporter), or help pad her anchoring resume.

Sire has been a mainstay on CSNBA for years, mostly as a sideline reporter for the San Francisco Giants. Not only will CSN need to replace the popular reporter for the upcoming baseball season, but the Giants lose a beloved foil. Who will Bruce Bochy douse with a can of Bud Light? Who will Pablo Sandoval target in the clubhouse with a shaving cream pie? Maybe that’s why Sandoval called in sick for Media Day. Sick … with a broken heart.

There are plenty of candidates to fill Sire’s role covering the Giants, including John Henry Smith and Ahmed Fareed, who came to CSNBA from MLB Network a little over a month ago. CSN could also go with Rael Enteen or Nate Stulbarg, who have both filled in as the beat writer on Andrew Baggarly’s days off.

Sire was one of the better personalities in CSN’s lineup, and she’ll be missed. However, I’m almost surprised she’s heading to ESPN. Her “e is for eat” blog seems to be pretty popular, and considering her passion for cooking I thought there might a chance she could be a future star on the Food Network. Instead, she’s sticking with sports on the Worldwide Leader. Hopefully she won’t be forced to talk about Tim Tebow too often.

What a real bummer! Jaymme was a real good addition to the bay area sporting scene. I for one will miss her easy manner. Anyone that can rattle Gary Rapshit(oops, I mean Radnich) is OK in my book. Good Luck Jaymee Dah Dan Dah, Dah Dan Dan, Dan!

hahaha. Yeah, people either love Amy G, or they don't. Damon, and I think Gary, Krueger, et. al, don't really care for her (Damon HATES her. At least he makes it seem that way. LOL) I don't think, while people at CSN obviously have to be in her corner since they work with her. I'm not big on Amy G. I mean, yeah, she's a nice person and she will still sound the same whether the Giants have an excruciating 2-1 loss or have an exciting game where they're blowing out someone 10-0, but as other people have complained about her, she kind of talks down to you during a broadcast, like we're in 1st and 2nd grade. LOL. It's her tone of voice. With that being said, she is better than people they've had doing sideline reporting for Giants games in the past like Cammy Blackstone and I think the woman before that. I think her last name started with a Y. But yeah, people either love Amy G or not. It's an interesting divide. As far as Kate Scott goes, I think she would be a nice addition to CSN Bay Area if they added her, but I don't know if she could do what Sire did, and go on some Giants road trips.

Amy G doesn't bug me, nor am I smitten with her. But please, don't ever bring back Cammie Whatsername. Good god. Was she a female Byrnes? Maybe she wasn't that bad, but she bugged me.

As a red blooded heterosexual male, I gotta say Jaimee Sire is a double threat; attractive AND a solid sportscaster. It doesn't suprise me she got called up to the major league team. Good for her. She deserves it.

Doesn't sound all that amicable. Like she fired Comcast. And why leave for the arctic to do the same job she did here? I never could tell her and Kate Longworth apart. It was beyond belief how those two stuck to the same 'do,color. Like they enjoyed the pretend twins look.

Yeah, I agree. There is no one on CSN Bay Area that could replace Jaymee Sire. I mean, would Amy G or even Kim Coyle be as cool with being pied by Pablo after some games, like Sire was? They both would probably get pissed or be irked. Speaking of Kim Coyle, I wonder if she will be Sire's replacement. She was at the Giants Fanfest yesterday for CSN Bay Area, which is an event that Sire would probably normally cover. I hope she isn't Sire's replacement though. Her voice is too loud and who knows if she will be as close with some of the Giants players like Sire was, even though it was funny when Takeo Spikes was trying to hit on her during a 49ers preseason game 4 or 5 yrs. ago. I wouldn't be surprised if Coyle is Sire's replacement for time being, covering Giants events for CSN Bay Area. I agree that this could be an opportunity for Kate Scott. It will be interesting to see if CSN Bay Area looks into bringing her in.

I wonder if the next few days will bring more love in this spot to Jaymee and "Heartbreaker " Kate Scott?

Oh man, that's really too bad. I mean, I guess you can't blame some of these sideline reporters for wanting to branch outside of doing sideline stuff and it's hard to turn down ESPN, but she was a perfect fit with her Giants duties. I mean, I can't picture Amy G doing what Jaymee Sire did, or Fareed, or John Henry Smith who seems like he could be a goofy guy. LOL. I'll miss Jaymee Sire on CSN Bay Area. It's not going to be the same without her there. Man, all the cool/fun people are leaving CSN Bay Area like Damon Andrews, Dave Benz who wasn't that bad, and now Jaymee Sire. Mychael Urban isn't with CSN Bay Area anymore. The guy who was there but was replace by Henry Wofford, seemed cool too. Hopefully Greg Pap, Bip Roberts, and Henry Wofford don't leave CSN Bay Area. But yes, I'm stunned by this.

Good for her. For what it's worth, some friends of mine ran into her at spring training last year (while out on the town) and said it sounds like she as cool off screen as she is on.
