Kent Bazemore scored 25 points and helped lead the Santa Cruz Warriors to victory Saturday night over the visiting Bakersfield Jam 110-105. Bazemore shot 6-of-16 from the floor including 12 three-point attempts. After the game, Bazemore talked about his performance and what it meant to return to Santa Cruz.

MarShon Brooks wasn’t able to find any sort of rhythm in tonight’s game. He only scored six points and wasn’t able to get going having only played just over 20 minutes during the contest. He was able to get to the basket, just had trouble finishing at and around the rim. It clearly wasn’t his night.
“I didn’t think I played well at all,” said Brooks, “But I worked on some rest, got my second wind, I feel like it worked out for the better.”
Brooks has yet to make an immediate impact after leaving Boston for Oakland in a trade that sent Toney Douglas to Miami and Brooks along with Jordan Crawford to the Bay Area. It’s hard to say what, if any significant contributions Brooks will make for the team this year.
This was the first assignment for Bazemore this year. Often times when Oakland assigned him to Santa Cruz, he’d return to Oakland and see his performance on the floor improve. Golden State is hoping Santa Cruz is the answer to Bazemore’s sophomore slump.
