The Warriors’ magic number to clinch the top seed in the Western Conference is six. They have the best record in the NBA, three games better than the Atlanta Hawks. We’re getting to the point where anything less than the ultimate prize would be a disappointment, especially if the team stays relatively healthy from here on out.
They’re also a confident bunch, and that was shown when the Brazilian Blur, Leandro Barbosa, chatted with Rosalyn Gold-Onwude after last night’s 106-91 win over the Utah Jazz. After scoring a season-high 19 points, Barbosa ended the interview by saying, “Definitely, definitely. We gonna be championship.”
“Champion blood” took off while the Giants made their run, and we should fully expect “we gonna be championship” to stick around for a while as well. My favorite part of the Vine (courtesy of @LetsGoWarriors) is when Barbosa looked back at the camera afterward.
Warriors fans better enjoy this team, and not just because their scoring margin is historically high. They’ve got plenty of depth AND personality.
