As the Warriors’ injury problems have continued to snowball, it has become nearly impossible to remain optimistic about this year’s playoff aspirations, so let’s just listen to some songs, hold hands, and reflect on the regular season that was.
Below are songs that best embody the 2013-2014 season for each member of the #FullSquad.
Stephen Curry : “The Man” by Aloe Blacc
You can tell everybody that Stephen Curry is the man. Curry has been through the worst, from playing alongside Acie Law to Mikki Moore, but he still gives his best. Although many doubted Curry and his physical frame in the 2009 NBA Draft, Curry was cut from a different cloth. Nowadays, Curry, a first team All-NBA candidate, is the teacher and opposing point guards receive the lesson. Curry, who leads the league in three-pointers made, is also the quick relief to all the fans’ stressing with the game on the line. You give Steve Curry an inch and he might take a Golden State mile! He’s the man, he’s the man, he’s the man.
Klay Thompson : “Tunnel Vision” by Justin Timberlake

Although Klay Thompson vastly improved as a scorer in 2013-2014, he still has that tunnel vision. A million people in a crowded room, but Klay Thompson’s vision has been set to zoom. Everything extra in the background, including a wide open Curry, just fades into the set. Klay-ups and all, Thompson has that tunnel vision and the green light for getting his 15.6 shots per game.
Andre Iguodala : “What More Can I Say” by Jay-Z
What more can Andre Iguodala say? What more can Andre Iguodala do? Iguodala doesn’t mean to boast, but damn, if he doesn’t brag, fans will forget that he has been the catalyst for the Warriors sudden surge to a top-5 defensive team in the league. Andre Iguodala is not the one to score points off, in fact Iguodala has been the best defensive small forward this season according to ESPN’s defensive real plus minus. The Denver Nuggets and the Philadelphia 76ers know what happens to their defense when Iguodala no longer exists.
David Lee : “Doing It Wrong” by Drake
When a good thing goes bad it’s not the end of the world, it’s just the end of a world that you had with one power forward. Continuing to give David Lee a bunch of minutes while ignoring not only his offensive decline, but also the rise of Draymond Green, is the wrong thing to do. The Warriors need someone different, you know it. We live in a generation of not being in love, and not being together, but Bob Myers and David Lee sure make it feel like they’re together because they’re scared to see each other with somebody else.
Andrew Bogut : “Bad News” by Kanye West
http://youtu.be/mHyu3rUOyB0
We just got some real bad news. Despite an impressive 2013-2014 season as one of the best defensive centers in the league, Andrew Bogut fractured a rib in Sunday’s game against the Portland Trailblazers and is out indefinitely. Mark Jackson’s face turned to stone when he heard the news. Bogut, Warriors fans were waiting on you, waiting on the dream of having a healthy influential center for a full season that’ll never come true. Hopefully I’m not twisting Jackson’s words.
