We have two 10-person pizza parties (which includes salads, too) catered by Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria to give out this week, and I thought it would make sense to center this week’s contest posts on an occasion that brings people together to eat pizza (and salads). The NFL Draft starts up on Thursday, with it comes all the giant players wearing brand new suits, talk about war rooms, and TRADES.

Speaking of that last part, there’s a rumor coming from Yahoo’s Jason Cole that the San Francisco 49ers are interested in moving on up.

San Francisco will be busy – The 49ers are at No. 31 overall, have 13 draft picks, including two selections each in Rounds 2-5. It’s believed by at least one GM that the Niners are interested in moving up to the 13th or 14th overall pick. There is no way that the 49ers can keep more than five or six new draft picks with the way the team is structured right now. Expect GM Trent Baalke to either trade up or trade out for picks in the future. The talk around the league is that the 49ers would like to get a defensive lineman who can eventually step in for veteran Justin Smith. The team also needs a safety, No. 2 tight end and could use an impact corner. All of that is possible.

That makes sense, except nobody ever seems to really know what Trent Baalke’s going to do. So maybe the 49ers will move up to the …   I don’t know, No. 6 overall pick. Or maybe they’ll pounce when someone they like falls and move up to a spot like No. 22. Who knows, they could always stand pat if they don’t think there’s much extra value earlier in the first round.

SSay the 49ers do move up to pick No. 13 or 14, as Cole suggested. Do they go after a defensive lineman to eventually replace Justin Smith at No. 13 like Missouri’s Sheldon Richardson, like Matt Barrows eerily suggested on April 1? With safety a huge question mark next year and in future years, do they target Kenny Vaccaro? Would they really trade up to select Tavon Austin, just to show the Seattle Seahawks how easy it is to grab a cheaper version of Percy Harvin?

I don’t have the answers, so that’s why I’m asking you to put your reputations on the line.

Contest question: what will the 49ers do in the first round on Thursday?

Will they trade up? Trade down? Stand pat? Who will they pick?

Answer the question(s) in the post and it’s nothing but a win-win situation for you, the lucky commenters. Unlike professional draft “experts” like Mel Kiper or Todd McShay, nobody’s going to come back and point to your comment and say, “You got it wrong, buddy!” But by attempting to step into Baalke’s Asics (the guy is ridiculously fit and apparently runs all the time) you do have the chance to receive a bounty of pizzas and salads from Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria for free. We’ll be running Draft-related contest posts every day this week, and I’ll randomly select two winners from all the comments on every contest post on Friday.

Here’s a party idea, in case you need one: DVR the draft, re-watch it with friends/family, and tell them how you predicted exactly what the 49ers would do on BASG. Since you’ll be feeding them delicious free food, they’ll have no choice but to nod and acknowledge your greatness. You might want to stop at asking them to call you “Baalke” the entire evening, however. People will start thinking you’re weird.
