The Sacramento Bee reported today that Mark Kreidler and Whitey Gleason are returning to the Sacramento airwaves, starting July 28.

This time they’ll be late risers, handling the 2-to-6 pm shift on ESPN 1320. As the Bee notes, they’ll go against the Grant Napear Show, which airs from 3-to-7 pm on KHTK 1140.
Gleason and Kreidler were part of a three-man Rise Guys weave on 95.7 The Game, which canceled the show in March. That was part of a massive reshuffling at KGMZ, which saw Ric Bucher and Chris Townsend move from afternoon to morning duty to make room for Damon Bruce.
As you can see in the promotional picture above, The Rise Guys are back to a two-man show. I reached out to Dan Dibley today after hearing the news, but he chose not to comment at this time.
The Rise Guys were heard in Sacramento for many years, starting in the early 1990s on 98 Rock before switching to KHTK in 1999, according to the Bee. They built a loyal following on 95.7 as well, and from what I’ve been told they put up their best ratings mark since joining the station before program director Jason Barrett pulled the plug.
