When the San Francisco 49ers win a playoff game, it’s not just a one-day experience. Fans spend the next week re-watching the game*, and KNBR (the 49ers’ flagship station) has been replaying highlights from the radio broadcast all week. Ted Robinson and Eric Davis do a fine job, but they weren’t the only ones calling this game.
Last year we posted audio of the final three touchdowns scored in the NFC Divisional Round game between the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints en Español. Since those clips were a huge hit among Spanish and English speakers alike, I thought it’d be worth posting a few highlights of the 49ers’ 45-31 win over the Green Bay Packers.
These highlights comes courtesy of ESPN Deportes 860AM San Francisco, and each contained a special exclamation from play-by-play announcer Erwin Higueros or color analyst Juan Carlos Sierra. While Saturday’s win didn’t carry the drama of last year’s victory over the Saints, there were several exciting plays deserving of a listen in any language.
Play: Colin Kaepernick’s 20-yard touchdown run (first quarter)
Play: Michael Crabtree’s 12-yard touchdown reception (second quarter)
Exclamation: “¡Touchdown para San Francisco!”
Play: Crabtree’s 20-yard touchdown reception (second quarter)
Exclamation: “¡Touchdown para los 49ers!”
Play: Kaepernick’s 56-yard touchdown run (second quarter)
Play: Kaepernick completes a 44-yard pass to Vernon Davis (third quarter)
Exclamation: “¡Ay yay yay!
6. Frank Gore’s 2-yard touchdown run (fourth quarter)
*I usually don’t promote anything on TV, but if you have NFL Network you should try to either watch or record the 49ers vs. Packers on NFL Replay at 5 pm this evening. You get everything you want out of the game, plus a mic’d-up Patrick Willis, in a 90-minute package.
