Aaron Rowand

Will Patrick Mills stay in college?

Here’s a good old-fashioned link dump before I get to go check out the EA Sports party in San Francisco. Videogames and beer, no complaints here!

–Life isn’t so good for Saint Mary’s, who don’t look very likely to make the NCAA Tournament. (Rivals.com)

–Will Patty Mills stay in school, or will he figure that leading the Gaels to a 18-1 record before his injury will be enough to break into the lottery? Because Rivals isn’t the only one who thinks his hand injury will ultimately keep Saint Mary’s out of the Big Dance. (CBS Sports)

–Monta looked good last night (scoring 19 points) in the Warriors’ 116-112 win over the Nets, but was benched again in the fourth quarter. Don Nelson said Ellis played “all right.” (SF Gate)

–After his tenth baby’s mom recently gave birth to twins, Travis Henry has fathered 11 children. The Wu-Tang Clan might have finally found Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s replacement. (Fanhouse)

–Aaron Rowand should expect more days off this season, with Eugenio Velez backing him up at centerfield. We here at BASG are always in favor of Velez getting playing time, so this counts as great news, regardless of how angry Kruk and Kuip get when Velez misses his third cutoff man in two days. (Extra Baggs)

–Ray Ratto might not be on the Jay Cutler bandwagon yet, but he’s pulling a Brian Sabean and kicking the wagon’s tires. (And The Horse You Rode In On)

–Is Natalie Gulbis hot or just “golf hot?” Whenever I think of “golf hot” I always think of Davis Love III or Tom Kite, but that’s just me. (With Leather)

–TapouT clothing co-founder Charles Lewis is dead after (probably) racing against a drunk guy in a Porsche. The picture with this story is just sad. No gore, but seeing a Ferrari ripped in half is just wrong. (LA Times)

–Derek Jeter wakes up Cody Ransom, who had been sleeping in the Yankees’ dugout using his glove as a pillow. (The Onion)

–Is 30 the new 40 in the NBA? In the cases of players entering the league from high school like Kevin Garnett (who’s played more minutes in his career than Charles Barkley, Jerry West, Nate Thurmond, Larry Bird, David Robinson, Elgin Baylor and Shaq), that might very well be true. (Sports Illustrated)
