Sitting up in bed..channel surfing since it was anti-climatic the Giants would win this year..Detroit didn't even score..seemed like. The Cards series had more oomf.
BUT I'M NOT ENTERING..give them to anybody else. I misread.
I was watching at Silver Clouds karaoke bar/restaurant on Lombard Street, on their side patio which had been tricked out with a projection TV screen for the night. Ten friends joined me and we gorged and imbibed as we rooted and then celebrated!
I was at home with the GF watching from our Sunnyside abode. Unlike 2010 where I had DVR'd it and then had fireworks going off before I could catch up and horns blaring basically ruining the ending; I watched this edition live and it was great but not like Game 1 that I attended in person..Pablo hiting 3 HR's and 2 of them off Verlander was unbelievable.
Watching with dad, with our Giants gears on. What a night, what a sweep. Awesome.
I was at a neighborhood bar, Triple Rock, downing plates of nachos and garlic fries with friends. When they won, high 5s were everywhere and a huge celebration let out. Pure chaos. Was great.
I live in San Luis Obispo and once we were down in the NLCS, I realized what a good post season record I had at a local place called Creeky Tiki dating back to the 2010 post season run. So we watched 5 straight games there starting with NLCS game 5. We had somewhere to be during game 3 of the World Series and then our friends invited us over to their place with a bunch of our friends who were also die hard fans. We took a gamble not going back to Creeky Tiki where my record was 13-1. The last game I saw them lose there during the post season was NLDS game 2 in 2010. But...clearly being at our friends house worked out ok. She had all kinds of swag that her dad sent her since he's a season ticket holder so we started a game where the person who guessed what the Giants batter was going to do got to pick a prize. We all had a blast and popped champagne as soon as they won. It was a very memorable moment I will never forget!
I was at home watching Gane 4. i ahd been so nervous the entire game that I literally chewed a water bottle down to nothing. a ssson as the GIANTS got two outs in the 9th I had my mom;s cell number ready to dial on one cell phone and my nephews on my other cell. As soon as they won( I heard it first) on KNBR and then ran into my bedropm to see it on T.V I calle dthem both and we jsutstarted to scream ionto the phone. We could not have been happier. I could not believe that we had won aain. After so many years of waiting we had 2 World Series in three years. It was so AWESOME Love my GIANTS
I was on a muni underground train on my way back home. People were hooting and cheering when the Giant's won. It was like being on my very own Giants fun train!
I was at Momo's...My home away from AT&T. What. A. Feeling. I'd love to go to the Orange Carpet event!
I was at a friend's house for dinner, only I was way to nervous to actually eat any food. We all sort of realized after a few minutes being there that there was no use sitting around the dining room pretending there wasn't anything more important going on. We finally resolved to just forget all other conversation and turn all of our last speck of attention to the game.
I was in the heart of the Financial District in SF, at the Bently Reserve. It just so happens that Game 4 of the WS was on my cousin's wedding day, and I was their officiant. After they won on Saturday, it was all about trying to figure out how I was going to watch the game while attending the wedding. The wedding started at 4:30, and the game around 5ish if I remember correctly. Of course, I had to give the Giants a shoutout during the nuptials because the bride and groom are huge fans too. I got them married, and for the rest of the cocktail hour, I was sitting in front of my iPad (with a small group that gathered around me) watching the game. The iPad also came to the dinner table, and the whole room was absorbed in the 10th inning by that crazy game with various groups of people huddled around the game, streaming on smart phones and iPads. The place went bananas when Romo shut it down! Someone got a couple of bottles of champagne from the bar and sprayed it all over, just like our Giants players were doing in Detroit. It was quite an experience to take in while surrounded by family and friends. Another cousin and I took a victory lap around the block just to yell with the people who were walking and driving by. It was a night to remember, no doubt.
I was watching with my parents who actually are Giants fans at their house.
I was sitting in a hotel room in Bedford, PA after having driven to Detroit to watch Game 3 in person with my wife and 2 babies the night before. We were making our way home to Washington, DC, but decided to delay our return because of the impending arrival of Hurricane Sandy. We moved to DC September of 2010, just in time to miss the first WS run; when we made it back to the Fall Classic this year, we didn't think twice about doing a 10 hour drive and rooting on the boys in person. The wife and kids fell asleep early into game 4 after a long travel day, but come the bottom of the 10th, I woke up the wife and told her we were 3 outs away and it was Romo time. We were as excited as you could be in a Bedford, PA hotel room at 11:30PM with two sleeping babies in the room. I was especially happy for my new son born in 2012, who like his brother born in 2010, was born a champion. We're glad to be back home for the holiday, and you can bet we're flying back east with a bunch of 2012 WS championship gear!
could we also ask the mayor why he is supporting the the Free Muni for Youth campaign? sounds like a great idea until you dive into the dollars and cents of it.
I was at Civic Center with my siblings and cousins! It was one of the last times I was able to spend time with one of the two cousins before he shipped off to boot camp about a week later, so to spend that evening with him and with a Giant victory was even more special. Even though it was hard to see anything with my 5'2" stature, I always knew what was going on with all the cheers. Won't ever forget the euphoria when Scutaro drove in the winning run and when Romo got Miguel Cabrera to strike out looking, and being able to high-five all the strangers on the road! And who knows when I will be showered with beer and champagne like that again? It was a beautiful night and I will never forget it!
When the Giants won Game 4 of the World Series this year, I was standing right in front of City Hall watching it off the big jumbotron screen. Being there with thousands of Giants fans and sharing that "clinching" game moment was incredible. It was magical. It was insane! I still get goosebumps thinking about it. I had people pinching me because I thought I was dreaming. A fellow Giants fan kept screaming at my face saying, "My name is Juan. My name is Juan"!!! I looked at him and screamed, "What?? I'm so sorry but I can't hear you. It's way too loud right now and I love it"!!! Then he said "We're numba Juan! We're numba Juan"!!!!!! He totally cracked me up. That night, I could not fall asleep. It was a full moon. Tossing and turning, I was wide awake with a huge smile on my face. I thought to myself, did we just win it twice in three years?? WOW…now, that’s just crazy! Crazy gooood. Being motivated, I got up and started to hand make a gigantic Panda head for the parade. I was Super MVP flying around with my orange Giants cape on. What better day to sport it PLUS it was Halloween! Wearing a big Panda head on parade day wasn't the easiest to maneuver around the crowd but it sure was fun and absolutely worth it. I think I got a glimpse of semi-celebrity status but to be able to attend an orange carpet event would complete my life long wish as a huge Giants fan. I would love the opportunity to relive that World Series “clincher” game moment again and again...
What an amazing night!!! I was with all my friends, we had plaenty of food and a Magnum bottle of champagne to "pop" when we won the World Series! This year was very special to me becasue I had my 2 year old daughter who was born in September 2010, so this was her 2nd Worl Series and it was my other daughter's 1st World Series, she was born in September 2011. It was a wonderful feeling to pass on the traditions and excitement with my daughters and the Love we have for Our Giants!!!!!! I guess I need to keep having kids born in September...
winning these tickets would be a great way to let go of my Giants Baseball till March....i am going through terrible withdrawls..
I was at home with my family and it was really a surreal and amazing moment. I still can't quite believe they swept the series, but I am very glad I was able to celebrate it with the biggest Giants fans I know.
When the Giants clinched for the second time in three years I was fist pumping and doing the gangdam style with Romo and the squad (in front of my television set in San Francisco) and it felt as good as the first WS victory: for the first victory I was at the Civic Center but its just not the same as being able to watch it comfortably and safely at home. GO GIANTS!!!
I was at home in Antioch watching with my wife and 13 month old son. My son goes to bed at 7:00 every night. You can pretty much set your watch by him. But on this night he absolutely refused to go to bed. We tried to put him down and he stood up in his crib crying which is something he never does. It was almost like he knew what was going on and he didn't want to miss it. So we got him out of his crib and put him on the couch with us to watch the Giants win the first championship in his lifetime. Definitely a special night to be able to share that moment with my son.
My hubby and I were at home in Lafayette (Fox on the TV; KNBR on the MLB.com app) trying to recreate our 2010 habits as closely as possible and feeling too nervous and superstitious to gather with others. (It worked!!) After the win, we headed to McCovey's in WC to meet some friends. Strangely, McCovey's was pretty dead and closing up. Standing outside, deciding where to go next, we heard a commotion one intersection over. We walked over and watched a Rockstar rep (complete with logo-emblazoned pick-up truck) losing his mind in celebration. He was yelling, shaking up Rockstars and showering himself with them, screaming, hucking Rockstars in the air and letting them fall and explode on the street, whooping and hollering and slamming drink after drink. Straight out of "Role Models"... Then a cab pulls into the intersection and starts spinning his tires, sending out huge cloud of white smoke from the burning rubber. This is WALNUT CREEK on a Sunday night, mind you! People were driving by in cars, holding flags out the windows, clapping and "Let's Go Giants"-ing. Awesome.
After having to watch games 6 and 7 of the nlcs from a hotel bar in disneyland, and games 1, 2 and 3 of the series in san diego, damn family trips, i finally landed in the city to watch game 4 at our friends house. surrounded by true black and orange fans. Not dodger, angels , or padres fans. Champagne poured, cigars were lit, hangovers were had.
I was at a local bar surrounded by a packed room full of strangers because I am extremely superstitious and didn't want to head up to the city until it was 100% official we were World Champs. Once Marco caught that last fly ball, I was hugging/ high-fiving/ screaming/ jumping with people young and old. It was like the epitome of what baseball does to people- it brings everyone together and makes you forget that you're in a room full of strangers
I watched with my mom and dad at their house. After spending most games of mass importance at the yard or at a bar, it was nice to watch with the people who made Giants baseball such a huge part of my life before I can even remember.
I was stuffed into the Blackthorn Tavern on Irving. I was standing next to an open window where 3 people were jockeying for headspace to lean in. Outside there were already cops preparing, but they were just as into the game as we were. After the Giants won, there were many stranger hugs and high fives and then people took to the streets. There were no riots, just a lot of champagne, some friendly fireworks and a bit of toilet paper on the muni lines.
I was crouched on my floor in my "Posey" stance. :) My visiting New York Yankee fan boyfriend was on the couch cheering along with me. Made it difficult to rub in how we swept the team that swept them...
I was at civic center no chair or blanket roughing in out on my feet for the whole 9 innings with some close friends and when it was all said and done and we got the sweep and the title I lost it went hi five crazy to everyone and jumping hugging and bottles were being popped it was pandemonium I tell you and other things I cant mention
I was with the bedlam that was Ausiellos 5th Street Grill in Santa Rosa, THE Giants bar to be at. I was able to share this second experience with close friends and a close friend that was far away... in Hawaii. As soon as the final K came down the champagne was flowing and everyone was treating our bar as if we were in the locker room celebrating with our team. There was champagne being sprayed everywhere. And, one of the best memories I have from that night was having the ENTIRE bar singing I Left My Heart In San Francisco at the top of our lungs.
I was in LA for game 4 of the World Series. My family had to put our Disneyland vacation on hold when it was game time. We bolted out of the Happiest Place on earth to find a TV to watch game 4 of the World Series. We ended up on Disney Walk and were trying to go in ESPN Zone but they wanted $10 a head to just walk in, so we ended up a outside Mexican place. We ate and watched the Giants take down the Tigers. Yes, we were all wearing our Giants gear in LA for the game too!
I was at my home in San Francisco. We had all my friends over. I still do not know how to handle this. After my whole life rooting for them, 2 in a row is almost too much to handle. I think I need a support group... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151145142608731
I was on my couch, under 3 or 4 blankets, probably suffering from alcohol withdrawals. Friends wanted me to go out to the civic center with them, but I said I needed to savor the moment by myself, and watch it at home. In reality, I just was too hungover.
I was standing on a folding chair next to the Loco Bloco Drum group and thousands of screaming fans in Civic Center Plaza. Probably one of the best sports related memories I'll ever have. It was amazing.
Unfortunately for me, I had work at 8:30 PM. I hung out at a bar next to my work as long as I could which was until the end of the 9th. Work was worthless also because it was a meeting that lasted two hours and was mandatory. I was wearing all my Giants gear and checking my phone every second. I found out the Giants won the World Series through *sigh* a Jon Heyman tweet. Out of everyone, he tweeted it first. Not the way I wanted to see the Giants win the World Series. At least DVR exist.
When the Giants won the WS this year I was at a friends house in the sunset district. Immediately people were shouting in the streets and setting off fireworks. What an amazing night to be in the city. I was out of town when they won in 2010 and regretted missing out on that energy in the city, but thankfully this year more than made up for missing out in 2010. I'd love to go to the movie if given the opportunity, it'd be the icing on the cake of 2012!
