The last two videos from San Francisco Giants Media Day feature Brian Wilson, who was speaking to a few reporters mostly about the health of his elbow and getting ready for next season.
Wilson didn’t seem quite as relaxed in these interviews as he did in our one-on-one session (in which we chatted about everything from dragon tattoos to Taco Bell), but he still threw out a couple gems that were worth checking out.
In this first video, Wilson starts by mentioning the ESPN College GameDay appearance where he came dressed in a LSU Tigers football uniform (in response to a question about whether he did anything interesting during the off-season). Soon after, the subject turned to his rehab schedule. Wilson mentioned he’d be throwing off a mound later that day, although not at AT&T Park…
A minute or so later I started recording again, when Wilson was talking about what Spring Training’s like when you’re an established Major League pitcher (as opposed to someone trying to make the roster). He seems quite confident at the end of the video, which is probably exactly what Bruce Bochy and Brian Sabean want. Can’t have too much of that “closer’s mentality,” am I right???
