Are you ready for the game? It’s in three hours, which means I need to get myself showered up (don’t judge me!) and in the car in a couple minutes. Stanford vs. Oregon, in what is undoubtedly the biggest college football game in the Bay Area since I’ve been alive.
I’ve been covering the week of practices and interviews for CSN Bay Area and CSN Northwest, so if you’ll excuse me it’s time for a little cross-promotion.
1. How good is Andrew Luck, really?
Pretty good, actually.
2a. Stanford: Coach Shaw on “Big Games:
2b. Stanford: Coach Shaw on the Oregon offense
2c. Stanford: Coach Shaw talks about his players
3. Video interviews with Andrew Luck, David Shaw, Stepfan Taylor, Griff Whalen and Michael Thomas
4. Breaking down Stanford’s defense
They’ve been really good — especially against the run — even without Shayne Skov. They haven’t faced anyone like Oregon, however.
CSNNW wanted me to write something on the best player most Oregon Ducks fans might not know about. While Jonathan “Moose” Martin is one of the best left tackles in the nation, a consensus high first round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and a Lombardi Award finalist, I focused on him anyway. With all the talk centering around Luck and Taylor, Martin deserves some more credit for making those guys’ lives easier.
6. Stanford Wary of Speeding Ducks
This one actually was featured on the front page on CSN Bay Area, a first for me. This one was a peek into the minds of Stanford fans leading up to the game.
7. Oregon vs. Stanford: The Prediction
Hopefully for Stanford, my college prognostication skills are a little better than what I’ve shown picking NFL games!
