New York Yankees

Young A-Rod fan really loves grabbing his dad’s face

There’s so much going on in this picture, and I can’t tell if this is actually a group of Yankees fans in the front row or if they’re filming the pilot to a Seinfeld spinoff. After Nick Swisher took a close pitch to run the count to 1-2, the A-Rod mini-jersey (shirsey?) kid couldn’t believe it. He turned around and grabbed his dad’s face (we’re presuming that guy’s his dad, otherwise this scene would’ve been even creepier).

Meanwhile the more … seasoned fans on either side of the pair struggled to stay awake before Swisher struck out swinging on the very next pitch to leave the bases loaded.

I wish I knew how to create a .gif, because the kid held and shook his dad’s face for an inordinate amount of time. Lil’ A-Rod’s going to get absolutely torn to shreds tomorrow at his incredibly expensive prep school after this makes the rounds.

For more analysis on this scene that played out in the $10,000 (or higher) seats in Game 5 of the ALDS, we turn to Wendy Thurm of Hanging Sliders.

Poor kid, he probably thought he’d be sitting in those same seats during the ALCS and World Series, but instead he got a birds-eye view of Jose Valverde celebrating the Detroit Tigers’ 3-2 game and series victory. Sometimes life isn’t fair.
